Our minds do what we tell them to do and then we believe our minds?

At times I find the hardest and most challenging parts of being in consciousness is to “set my mind” to a certain task and then continue directing it to the thoughts that I want “it” to think. Then the next challenge is to continue swaying, cajoling and enticing my mind into this new thought.

IT (my mind) seems to want to continue “going back” to the familiar. To what “it” usually does. To status quo. To it’s comfortable uncomfortable. I see myself saying: Hey, but it’s “what I’ve always done.” Or  “It’s just the way I am.”

We are comfortable in the “same ole-same ole” places that exist inside of us. I write this from a place of watching myself be in my comfortable uncomfortable place while these words are flowing out of me. I watch myself be in resistance to these words and ideas even though the deeper part of me is bringing forth this knowing. I am inspired by a deeper wisdom than what my comfortable thought wants me to do right now. So the critical voice might rise to say:

  • Are you sure you want to write any of this?
  • Are you sure you are capable of doing this?

Then the present watcher inside voice comes up to say  “Doing what?” Writing?

There lies the deep trick of the mind! This is where- worry, doubt, diminishment, fear, anxiety and any other emotions can get you and sway you away from
LITERALLY

Changing your mind!

I find this process so fascinating and enlivening. I love to watch myself go deeper into my thoughts and see where they want to take me. Then I gently say to them (which is actually talking to myself) I don’t think I want to go there right now. That thought no longer serves me and my highest desire and my highest purpose for life right now.

This is where diligence and desire enter into this matrix called our minds, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

I coach people to find the places within themselves to discover the wonderful, rich and delicious world of thoughts and feelings.

Life is suppose to be FUN! Isn’t that a nice thought!?
