While standing under the hot water in the shower today the words that crossed my mind were Passionate and Passion. I stood there while the hot water penetrated my skin and my mind. I felt passionate about bathing. I felt passionate about the feeling of the water on my skin. I felt passionate about the warm and humid breeze coming through the window. I felt passionate about being able to smell the humidity in the air and the tropical scents that permeated the room. I opened my eyes in that moment and thought this is passion. This is love! This is life! This is existence! There is nothing else but this moment and having all my senses engaged in this experience.

While writing this I heard my inner critic trying to dissuade me from writing about my morning shower. However, I wanted to share my feelings of joy in something as mundane as taking a shower. This is my morning meditation. Being present, conscious, aware and mostly in gratitude for each moment of my life’s experiences. How can each of us be in connection to the simplest of things in our lives. How can we learn to utilize each of those things as a meditation. passionpm
A slowing down to breath in the moment. To feel the water, to hear the sounds around you, to step into your car and really feel the seat beneath you. To start your car and be engaged with your senses while turning the key (or pushing a button as I do in my MINI). The point is to be totally engaged in everything you are doing in each moment. Try it and see what happens.  Yes, it takes an effort to slow down. But the rewards of experiencing your life fully are so deep and alive that I bet you will want to slow down even more—-and wake up to YOUR PASSIONATE SELF!
