“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” –Mary Oliver

This has been a special birthday celebration. As my birth-date passes and I reflect on how I am feeling I want to share my appreciation with you.

For years I have celebrated my birthday quietly. Not for any particular reason, it felt like that was where my energy was flowing. Being quiet and reflective on the day of my birth.

Then on my 70th spin around the sun I chose to open up to receive anything that wanted to show up. WOW! I am in gratitude for all the FB words, likes and LOVE combined with the phone messages and birthday cards I received.

A Thank You to each of you seems limited and small for the amount of gratitude, joy and LOVE that I feel in my HEART at this moment. This is going to carry me through the entire year with a bounce in my step and my heart bursting with appreciation.

NOW– Since I’ve had so much fun receiving on my birth-date I want to share a fun memory of myself and my young adult love who I was married to for 3 years. The year is 1973 and in the true nature of the Hippies we were we are stoned and enjoying The Summer Jam at Watkins Glen Rock Festival in upstate NY. We saw the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead and the Band! I did get heat stroke that weekend but that didn’t stop me from having one of those times of my life memories.

Words by Khalil Gibran “Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”
